This is a classic left-bank Bordeaux styled wine. The grapes were harvested in October 2009, and were aged on French oak for 2/12 years. Homage Cabernet Sauvignon is estate grown. The yield in 2009 was low at 2 ½ tons per acre. The wine itself is has a dark and rich fruit character on the nose, to match the deep hue in the glass with its intense, crimson-purple rim. There follows a lovely freshness to the start of the palate, the fruit dark, sweet, concentrated, very dense, with some fine lifted elements in the midpalate though. The wine is well composed, supple and quite soft in its substance, but with a ripe character to the fruit, and a really ripe and rich tannic backbone showing towards the end.
